A Serpentine Top Dresser in Olive Wreath

$375.00

This was a trash to treasure furniture restoration project. When I stumbled upon this piece, it was being used as a workbench. I included a before picture below. Despite the fact that it wasn’t pretty, it was in decent shape. Because this piece is solid wood, I felt it would be a candidate for a restoration. I felt compelled to restore this piece and save it and give it new life.

I had a little fun with project, and I asked my social media following to help pick the color of this piece and the paper for inside the drawers. The color is Olive Wreath from Lilly Moon Paint with a build-in topcoat. I love this deep, rich evergreen color. It was the perfect color for this piece.

In full disclosure, someone had previously repaired and reinforced the dove-tailed drawers, and while some of the repairs aren’t pretty, these drawers are solid and in proper working condition. I sanded and sealed and conditioned each drawer inside and out. It is actually surprising how nicely these drawers slide in and out of this piece. They don’t make them like this anymore.

Other things that help revived this piece- new wheels and knobs in antique brass as well as freshly papered drawers in a high-quality peel-n-stick paper.
