It was a great weekend. One of the new pieces I brought into the shop this weekend was a piece that I gave new purpose. This old dresser was not in the best of shape. I converted her into a hall or mudroom shoe organizer (or something else if you so desire.)
Overall, she had good bones except for the drawers. So I had to think this one through. Hmm. What should I do to give her new purpose? I’ve said this before, I need to take before pictures, so you can truly appreciate the transformation. Next time. Probably not, but I will put it out there anyway. Here is her transformation into a super, cool organizer-
She looks so cute next to this side chair in a tufted linen color (also available at the shop.) She measures 17.25Dx38.5Wx36H. She is painted in a soft grayish/beige color in a custom chalk paint and waxed. I also added some new hardware.
If you were to bring her home for your hallway or mudroom, she has 3 shelves for shoes and a drawer perfect for scarves, hats + umbrellas. And, maybe you put a basket on top to catch your mail (and maybe you get an olive bucket as a trash can to catch that pesky junk mail) and you could also put a little dish to catch your keys.
She is just a little bit distressed, but I think that only adds to her character. Because let’s be honest, she was very distressed to begin with in the process. I think she is beautiful. What do you think of this transformation?
I hope everyone is staying warm and cozy.
Lots of Love,
