One Word Project | Recommended Reading

My word for the year is EMBRACE, but you probably already know it.

Last time, I told you that my first step to living my word was to define it. Once I’ve defined my word, I brainstorm some ideas of thing I surround myself with to visually remind myself and what things I can do to live my word for the year.

One of the things I often employ in my process, I find books that I think will be beneficial. I mean, I usually read/listen to books, so this isn’t such a hard way to incorporate into the plan. Right now, I am listening to Of Mess and Moxie- Wrangling Delight out of this Wild and Glorious Life by Jen Hatmaker. Because I am want to EMBRACE this life, EMBRACE the daily grind, EMBRACE the season I am in, EMBRACE the mother that I am, EMBRACE the speed bumps, EMBRACE the little things.  Hey,Jen Hatmaker, can you help a girl out?

[Just so you know I snagged these images from the Barnes and Noble website  . . . I feel that it is only appropriate to give credit where credit is due.]

I am also going to re-read this book. It’s kind of perfect for my quest to EMBRACE the every day, and I hold this book deep in my heart.

Other books that struck my fancy this past year that you might enjoy or might work for you depending on the word you picked for the year. . .

The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin

Get Your Sh*t Together + The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck by Sarah Knight

Make Your Bed- Little Things That Can Change Your Life . . . And Maybe The World by Admiral William H McRaven

Grace Not Perfection by Emily Ley

168 Hours- You Have More Time Than You Think by Laura Vanderkam

I read these books for my word last year which was to CREATE (create a life that was good for me and my time as well as to be creative for myself . . . I digress.)

I have read + listened to a few other books. These are just a few of my favorites. I also read for pleasure, but I am more of a self-help, self improvement kind of girl . . . because I need all the help I can get. I am constantly a work in progress. I am a damsel in distress . . . okay, that might be a little dramatic.

So, any books that you would suggest for me? Any books that you think will help me this year on my journey to EMBRACE . . . anything and everything? No seriously, mother, marriage, self . . .

Lots of Love,
